Pregnancy Update: Week 33

33 weeks! It’s getting real! I feel so unprepared. The crib isn’t put together, car seat isn’t installed, and I have yet to tour the hospital. Oy! Must. Get. Moving. This. Week.
IMG_2314.JPG

Symptoms: Nothing majorly different except I am getting more and more uncomfortable every day. My hips and back ache, rolling over in bed and getting out of bed hurts, and you an forget standing up on my own after sitting on the ground. I just feel huge and am starting to feel pressure “down there” and am ssooo ready to be done with this. Of course I want baby to keep cooking, but you know what I mean! Also, it is HOT outside, and I am hot all. the. time. No matter what I do I can’t seem to cool off, and have been staying indoors as much as possible. Who’s idea was is to be 8 months pregnant in the summer? Oh wait…

Baby’s Size: durian fruit <—– What the heck is that?

Maternity clothes: Nothing new, I’m really trying to hold out!

Stretch marks: Knock on wood, still ok!

Sleep: Still getting up several times a night, but not having as hard of a time falling back asleep. I think I have just been so exhausted from unpacking!

Miss anything: walking without waddling, not feeling tired all the time, just generally miss feeling “normal”. I really miss racing too. Seeing everyone’s photos of their runs etc. makes me ready to get back to it!

Cravings: Morning sickness is making a comeback, I have had two days this week where I haven’t wanted to eat anything at all and felt nauseated. I have been eating a lot of ice cream though. Smile

Aversions: Most foods? I just don’t seem hungry ever, and “meals” do not seem appetizing. This explains my two pound weight loss at my last dr. appt. I have another appt. on Tuesday so we will see where I stand.

Looking forward to: Getting the nursery all set up and showing you guys! We got it started but I am not ready to share pics just yet!

But I will show you this from the nursery Smile

What I’m loving: It’s pretty obvious to everyone I am due soon. People in stores, etc. always ask when I’m due and if it’s a boy or girl, and it’s fun to chat. Except when the man at Lowe’s says “wow, you look like you are about to drop that baby! You must be due any day!” You should have seen the look on his face when I said I have 7 weeks left!

Workouts: Lots and lots of unpacking and moving, walking around placing things, etc. I am exhausted and still have a lot to do!

QOTD: When you were pregnant did people think you were a lot farther along than you really were?

What are your favorite color combos for nurseries that you have seen lately?

QOTD: If you could design a medal what would it look like?

No Internet

Hey guys! Sorry for the MIA. If you have been following on Twitter, Instagram, or my Facebook page you know we have been busy moving…and busy NOT having internet (thanks AT&T!) Yall, it’s ridiculous how many times we have been lied to by them over the past week. I still have NO idea when we will be getting internet, so I got as much work done yesterday as I could while we still had access to our rental for the last day. Please hang with me this week as posting may be sporadic. I promise to come back with house pictures and such!

Just to give you an idea of how angry I was on Thursday….Bobby took this photo of me on the phone with AT&T Uverse, trying to understand a woman who did NOT speak English telling me they couldn’t give me an installation date due to a problem at a local facility….whatever that means. Oy.

Not too flattering I know, but just keeping it real. On to happy things!

QOTD: Have you had issues with internet installation before? Seems like it’s a rampant problem!

Moving Madness

Oh yes my friends, madness it was! We arrived at the new house early yesterday morning when the movers got there, to find out the air conditioning had not been officially turned on for the first time so we had no air. This may not be a big deal for some, but in August, in Mississippi, it was brutal. The heat index was well over 100, and I felt so bad for the poor movers. We opened windows and had fans running, but it was still 92 degrees in the house.

moving1

The movers were excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone on the MS gulf coast that needs to move!

The rest of the things we had lined up that day…not so much. So, the A/C guy shows up around 1:00, and we finally have air…but since it was 92 in the house it took until 4:00 pm to get it down to the mid 80’s.

AT&T was supposed to come but were no shows, so we called and the more than unhelpful person on the phone didn’t tell us anything and said they would have someone call us back. Hours later we find out some line has been cut and no one was coming. (So my question is WHY didn’t they call to tell us this instead of just not showing up?)

moving2

The people from the gas company were supposed to come set up our meter, also a no show. We explained to them we had no meter even though her computer screen told her that the tech read the meter….which we told her was not possible since we didn’t have a meter!

So it was definitely a very eventful day with a few kinks, and I am just hoping they can get the internet going in the next few days or I am up a creek.

moving4

We didn’t even start with the unpacking, it took all day to get everything off the truck. Those poor guys were slowed down so much by heat. Between the three of them and then three of us (me, Bobby, and my mom) we went through an entire 24 pack of water in less than six hours.

As I posted on Instagram, this picture pretty much sums up our day,

moving5

Bobby goes back to work tomorrow, and mom and I will be left with the task of starting to unpack…which will be interesting because most of the stuff in boxes….I have no idea where I want it!

I know we will eventually get through it all, it was just a little overwhelming for one day. So, we survived, but still have a ton to do. However we are excited to finally be getting settled into our new home! Please hang with me as I have no idea what my internet situation will be like over the next few days.

QOTD: Least favorite part of moving? Ever had someone be a no show to an appointment?

Pregnancy Update: Week 32

No lie, the weeks are running together so much now I had to check my blog before I started writing to see what week I was in! I used to think women who couldn’t remember were crazy, I mean, how can you forget something so monumental, but it happens!

So, here we are, week 32, and my baby is due NEXT MONTH! mind blowing. I still laugh at how at week 20 I thought I was “huge” heh.

32weeks bump

I went to my doctor’s appointment yesterday, (my mom came too) and we heard baby M’s heartbeat and everything is looking good and still on track. I actually lost two pounds, but the doctor didn’t seem worried.

Symptoms: Most of the same, sorry I am not very exciting. I’m very tired and have had a few days where nausea has crept back in again. Overly emotional, peeing all the time, not sleeping well. My low pelvic pain shifted for a few days from straight across my lower pelvis to just on my right side/around my hip and shooting down the top of my right thigh. Not sure if I have pinched a nerve or something but just walking is quite painful so I have been sitting a lot. I have been feeling very overwhelmed a lot lately since we move into our new house tomorrow, but hoping once we get settled I will feel better and more prepared.

Baby’s Size: Squash

Maternity clothes: Nothing new, although I will admit I now have to sleep in Bobby’s size large t-shirts as the mediums don’t cover my belly anymore! Mediums used to be my “big” sleep shirts. I have a lot of tops that still do fit, but not very many bottoms, so you will see the same things over and over. My apologies.

Stretch marks: Still doing ok!

Sleep: Still getting up to potty 2-4 times a night and randomly waking up. I try to limit my naps to earlier in the day and to 45 minutes or so, in hopes I will sleep better at night.

32weeks bump2

Miss anything: At this point I just miss being able to roll over in bed without hurting! It’s the little things.

Cravings: Sweets sweets and more sweets.

Aversions: Spices, anything with a really full flavor, too much protein.

Looking Forward to: MOVING TOMORROW! Painting the nursery this weekend (thanks dad).

What I’m loving: Knowing that this is not forever!

Workouts: Pretty non existent with my new hip pain. However I know tomorrow and the days to follow I will get plenty of workouts in unpacking boxes.

QOTD: Did you ever have pain going down the top of one of your thighs while pregnant?

This heat is killing me…who is ready for fall?

Fiber Choice 30-Day Get Picky Challenge

When I was contacted by Fiber Choice about joining in their 30-Day Get Picky Challenge, I was immediately intrigued because I have never been able to find a fiber regimen that I was crazy about. They always seem to swing from one side of the pendulum to the other, and I was looking for some middle ground that wouldn’t upset my stomach, but would still be beneficial. I was cleared by my OBGYN to join in the challenge, and was so excited to receive my product in the mail. I will be switching to the Fiber Choice products for 30 days and at the end of the challenge will evaluate my thoughts. So far after a few days, I will say I really enjoy taking my supplement! These babies taste good! It’s like eating candy so I don’t mind (and never forget) to take them.

On and off in my pregnancy I have struggled with constipation, so I am curious to see what happens in these 30 days. You can take up to 3 servings a day, but I started at one as to not overwhelm my system with too much fiber at once, and will be working up to taking more.

fiberchoice

I chose to try the Fiber Choice Fruity Bites for the challenge. These are chewable fiber supplements in gummy form with natural flavor and colors. Not to mention, they taste great! The supplements Fiber Choice makes contain 3 grams of fiber per serving (two gummies in my case). The natural fiber helps support your immune system and digestive tract, and can be taken every day.

A lot of Americans do not get enough fiber in their diets. (Recommended intake is 25 to 35 grams). Choosing to take a supplement is something that is important to me, especially since I have been very picky about my food choices since being pregnant.

All of the Fiber Choice products contain a prebiotic fiber called inulin, which is a 100% natural fiber found in fruits and veggies). These prebiotics help the good bacteria (probiotics) grow and support our well being. Fiber choice products are also gluten free, and are available at most mass merchandisers, drug stores, and grocery stores.

10445522_667106370048996_3363095150817380729_n

I will be posting about the challenge at the midway point and at the end, and will let you know how I am feeling. So far so good! Be sure to follow Fiber Choice on Twitter for news and updates!

*Always be sure to consult with your physician before taking any new supplements.

QOTD: Do you take a fiber supplement? Do you think you get enough fiber in your diet?

Disclosure: I was provided product and compensation for this challenge, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Magellan Echo Review

Awhile back I was contacted to review a cool new device called the Magellan Echo. At first I wasn’t so sure why this device was special, but upon further reading, I realized this was nothing like anything I had ever used.  It also comes in several pretty colors!

IMG_1343

Echo solves the biggest problem when doing sports with a smartphone. How many times have you used a running app on your phone, and got aggravated because you had to keep pulling it out of your pocket or armband to check you time and pace? Or, when running in the bright sun, having to figure out a way to read your smart phone’s screen to see how your run is going? The Echo fixes this by syncing your info from your app to a wrist watch!

Echo streams data and controls from your smartphone to your wrist. At a glance, you can see things like distance, pace, and heart rate from certain apps on your phone in realtime.echo_fea_fitness_1_2

With your phone in your pocket or in an armband, etc., remote controls make it easy to do things like Start, Stop, Lap as well as Music controls like Play/Pause, and hanging to the next song. Also, tapping the screen turns the page to show more date screens. Echo uses Bluetooth Smart to connect your smartphone and watch.

Apps bring Echo to life on your wrist. They are working with the leading fitness apps to ensure that your favorite app works with Echo. Strava, MapMyRun, MapMyRide, Wahoo Fitness, iSmoothRun, iMobileIntervals and other apps will be announced soon. (I am currently using Strava on mine).

The device is always on and ready to go. Echo does not need to be recharged, it uses very low power technology and runs off of a replaceable coin cell battery.
Echo’s low power technologies also help preserve the battery of your smartphone. Using Echo means your phone screen stays off, which saves your smartphone battery for more important functions. Also, When you’re not running or biking, Echo is an everyday watch showing the day, date and time.

The model I was sent also came with a heart rate monitor, but you can also purchase the watch alone without this feature. I really liked not having to stare into a glaring screen to see what was going on with my phone app, or worry about draining my battery. The screen on the watch is large and easy to read, and I really love that you aren’t just limited to one app like if you are using a regular GPS watch. Depending on your preference or activity, you have many options with more coming!

QOTD: What are your thoughts on a device like this? What other apps would you like to see the Echo work with?

Balance Bar Summer Shape Up (and giveaway)

Disclosure: I received a Walmart gift card as part of a sponsored collaboration for the Summer Shape Up Challenge with Balance Bar.

I have tried many different types of bars over the past few years, and have gotten very particular about them. When I was approached by Balance Bar about their summer shape up challenge, I was intrigued, as I had never tried this brand before.

The Balance Bar® Summer Shape-Up Challenge kicked off to help consumers move more, eat healthier and feel great while enjoying summer. The 40-day Challenge was filled with 30-minute workouts, healthy eating tips and multiple social media giveaways.

I took my Wal-Mart giftcard and headed off to the store to purchase my product. There were a lot of flavors to choose from, but I ended up settling on cookie dough and yogurt honey peanut. I also decided to try the caramel nut blast as well. My shopping trip was easy and seamless, and I was soon home with my new snacks.

After trying out the flavors, my favorite is definitely the cookie dough. It has a good flavor, not really chalky, and doesn’t feel like I am eating a bunch of chemicals. There are many other flavors to choose from, so be sure to check out all the products on their website.
