Mini Taper
October 28, 2010 by 11 Comments
Tonight we are going to a visitation for a friend’s father who passed away in a car accident a couple of days ago. It was shocking, and also a big wake up call. I drive that interstate all the time. You never know when it will be the last time you get to talk to someone. Go hug your parents, spouse, childen, and friends. Tell them how you really feel about them, don’t wait to tell them tomorrow, you never know if there will be one. Can I just say I love all my readers?

Tapers can be a drag but you can still run and workout during that time, so don’t go too crazy!!
Do you have a foam roller? A lot of ppl say it helps their IT Bands. Training for your first marathon can be tough but they get better and much easier! It’s all new the first time!
Hope you guys are getting settled in now! GOod luck with your half, have fun!!
yeah I have been using my foam roller everyday, so hopefully it pays off!
I didnt run the rest of the week because I thought I was getting sick b/c I had an awful headache and sinus stuff. I am still congested but no headache so I don’t know what’s up.
aaah tapering! lol It doesn’t bother me too too much. I will admit though…in Disney, I was so worried about Wine and Dine cause I only ran one day that week cause I was sick….but the race went fine. So I’m sure you’ll be ok for Jazz! :0) See you SOON!!!! Yay!
well I have only run one day this week lol!
I actually think I do better when I don’t run the week before a race! Your fitness is fine and the extra rest really gives you that extra edge during the race!
I sure hope so!
I wouldn’t worry about the tapering too much. You have been running long enough and hard enough that you will be just fine! See you Sat.
I know I just want to be rested and have max glycogen stores in my body but not lose fitness at the same time. It’s a hard balance!
Nope, I promise you that when it comes time to taper for the full, you’ll go crazy! It is the most frustrating thing in the world. You start to doubt everything. I have been tapering 4 of the past 5 weeks and am really losing it. This week I did 2 hard runs when I really shouldn’t have just because I HAD to! But you’ll get through it
thats how I felt about the ellitpical yesterday, I needed to do SOMETHING so I did that haha. at least my taper will start around Chrismtas so I will be super busy then anyway!
