5 Things Friday XV

Friday, we meet again! I hope everyone had a great week, and has an even better weekend.

1.) Mother’s Day: Mother’s Day is SUNDAY. Hopefully you were already aware of this fact and have plans to mail a card/send a gift/visit your mother. Do something. Your mom put up with you your entire life, including your angsty teen years, so tell her thank you.

2.) Beat the sun: ASICS is once again trying to beat the sun with a fun race, and this year they are including some amateur runners, and you can vote for your favorite! (ppstt. Ryan is a fellow ASICS ambassador, just saying.)

3.) Fabletics fun: Check out these adorable new pants and top I got from Fabletics this month. I love the top because it’s super light and nice and long for a tall person like me. The pants have tiny little cut outs in the pattern and I love the bright color. Very comfy!

Also, how fun is my RunningSkirts.com skirt?

4.) Complete cookie: I know I am late to the party, but I just had my first Complete cookie recently and yall, eating protein has never been this tasty for me! I am hooked. I have only tried chocolate chip and birthday cake but they are both delicious! I usually eat half a cookie then save the other half for the next day.

5.) Email list: Another huge thank you to those that have signed up for my email list via my free printables or my free how to start a blog e-course. If you want to join my email list (I only email bi-weekly right now) without signing up for one of the above two options, you can do so below. Thanks so much for your support. Lots of good things coming, and subscribers will be the first to know!

QOTD: Have you ever had a Complete cookie? What are you doing for Mother’s Day?

5 Things Friday XI

Happy Friday yall!

1.) The Crescent City Classic is next weekend in New Orleans! I can’t wait to run this race again, I think this is my fifth time! It’s always the Saturday before Easter, and so much fun. If you will be within driving distance of NOLA Easter weekend I can’t highly recommend this race enough. You can sign up here.

2.) Have you heard of the ASICS Beat the Sun Challenge, that takes place on the longest day of the year? You can sign up for a chance to run the race, or sign up for the virtual race where you can challenge yourself to reach a goal. Also, be sure to check out this page where you will find training plans, a series of videos covering anything from trail running into to meal prep, as well as tips from three ASICS elite coaches.

3.) I am loving this month’s Fabletics picks. As much as I love the fun prints on my carpi pants, I wanted to tone it down a little, and so the print just along the side is a great option! The tank is made of a thicker material, but I love the fit and the colors.

4.) I just started small group Bible study with my lifegroup from church, and we are doing a book called Anything: The Prayer That Unlocked My God and My Soul. So far I really like it and recommend it!

5.) Emma Kate loves the water, which is a drastic change from last summer. I have a baby pool and little splash pad for her, but I think I want to get her a water table. Any one in particular that’s good? I was looking at this one: Little Tikes Spiralin’ Seas Waterpark Play Table. Opinions?

QOTD: Are you running a race the next two weekends? Did/do your kids like playing with water tables?

5 Things Friday

1.) September 11th. Where were you? I was a junior in high school and I still remember sitting in class, and another teacher came in and whispered something into my teachers ear. I will never forget the look on his face, it still makes me stomach turn. Let’s continue to pray for the families of the victims, and for our country as a whole.

2.) Fall decorations. What is the “rule” in your house on when you decorate? typically I decorate labor day weekend/beginning of September, but I haven’t yet. Emma Kate’s birthday party is the 19th and I don’t want the house to look cluttered with fall décor + her party decorations, so I may just wait until after that.

3.) The treadmill boost. I ran on the treadmill yesterday, and my time was way better than it has been outside (air conditioning plus running on a belt changes many things!) What are your thoughts on this? I know running outside is totally different, but I really needed the confidence boost of running in the non 100+ degree heat to see what I could do.

4.) Recipe help. I need some new, EASY and QUICK chicken recipes. Help a sister out. I’m getting tired of the same old stuff. I have a great enchilada soup recipe I will start once it gets cooler!

5.) Gorgeous clothes. Check out my new Fabletics outfit. Isn’t it gorgeous? I am loving the romantic print and deep purple. I will post a pic soon of me wearing it. We are supposed to have cooler weather this weekend so maybe I will run in it!

QOTD: Where were you September 11? Any links to easy chicken recipes? When do you decorate for fall?

Disclosure: I was provided with this outfit by Fabletics, however all opinions are my own.

What I’m Loving Lately: June 2015 (Rodan + Fields)

Hello my friends! Summer is here so I thought it was time for another WILL post. Before you dive in to some of my new faves, I just wanted to take a quick second to make sure you all are aware of something. Do I get paid to write sponsored content on my blog? Yes. Do I take product that goes along with some of these opportunities? Yes. A big fat HOWEVER…I would never promote something to you that I myself have not tried (yes companies will try to get me to write content about products I have never even laid eyes on!) and wouldn’t recommend or use myself. Hear me when I say I turn down A TON of opportunities because I just don’t believe in them and they don’t fit my brand. That being said, a lot of things that I write about in my WILL posts have nothing to do with sponsored content and are just things I have found that I love! Ok, just wanted to make sure we were on the same page there. On we go!

1.) Fabletics:

I first was introduced to Fabletics right after I had Emma Kate. I wanted to try it out but waited into I could actually fit in workout clothes my size again. The first set of clothes I got were not my favorites, but everything since then has been amazing and I get tons of compliments on the cute prints. I told them I was looking for a new high impact sports bra and they recommended the Sintra Bra which I now absolutely love!! (pictured below). It has adjustable straps which are amazing for people like me who don’t fit exactly fit into just a small, medium, or large.

Their capris are super comfy and don’t fall off of me when I run, and how adorable is this new floral print?

Digging this cute new top as well. They come out with adorable new stuff every month so there is always something new. I like some months way more than others, but that’s why I think it’s great they come out with new product so frequently.

2.) Soul Shred:

My friend and fellow blogger Bobbi who is always hosting amazing shreds wrote this book that combines a devotional with workouts and help with clean eating. I just started at the beginning of June but love it so far. It’s quick and easy to read, perfect for those without a ton of time. She has video pairings to go with the book as well which I love!

3.) Quest bars:

Lately I have been all about Quest bars! Chocolate chip cookie dough is by far my favorite. They are packed with protein but have a delicious flavor (seriously, I feel like I am eating a candy bar). Perfect to keep in my purse. Plus, as an Amazon Prime member I get free two day shipping.

4.) Rodan + Fields:

I have been using Rodan + Fields products for just over a month, but am already seeing great results! When I was pregnant, my skin was awesome and clear. I never wore makeup because I didn’t need any! Once the baby came, my skin quickly returned to it’s old oily acne prone ways and as a woman approaching 30 I found this ridiculous. I finally took the plunge into using and selling the products and I have been SO impressed with the results so far. I started with Unblemish for acne prone skin, and have been working in Redefine into the mix for wrinkle prevention and to reduce the appearance of fine lines. My face is So much smoother, no acne, no red marks, and my lines have softened too.

roadn_and_fields

In the “before” photo above, you can see the acne, plus check out all the bumps under my skin on my forehead (they drove me NUTS!) They are all gone. In the photo on the right, I am wearing ZERO MAKEUP except for maybe some remnants of yesterday’s mascara from church. No redness, no oil, it’s awesome!

In the photo below you can see the crows feet around my eyes when I smile. In just a month they have been drastically reduced. I am very pleased!

I truly believe in these products and would use them even if I wasn’t also selling them. If you would like to talk about purchasing or sellingt R+F for yourself, please email me at heatherslookingglass@gmail.com and we can chat. I hate how I used to be embarrassed by my skin and I don’t want anyone to have to go through that any longer! (Or you can just order directly from my site here).

What I’m Loving Lately November 2014

I haven’t done one of these posts in awhile, so there are a lot of new things I am loving that I wanted to share with you. Maybe you will find a new favorite. Smile

Blue Bell Spiced Pumpkin Pecan ice cream: Yall, I am kinda glad I just found out about this recently, otherwise I would have gained ten pounds by now. Yes it tastes like fall in a carton and yes I eat it directly out of said carton with a spoon.

IMG_0731 (2)

Dr. Brown’s nose and face wipes: The folks at Dr. Brown’s were kind enough to send me several baby related items before EK was born, and it’s fun to try out all the different things. I really love these wipes for snotty noses and general face wiping when we are out and about. Convenient packaging and easy to throw in the diaper bag. Two thumbs up!

IMG_0752 (2)

Fabletics: I have heard a lot of things about Fabletics clothing line, both good and bad, but wanted to test it out for myself. I picked out this outfit and was pretty happy with it.The hoodie fits well and is really, really soft and is my favorite piece. The capris have a nice silky feel to them but were a little snug in the legs/felt a little like compression tights. I do love the fold over waistband. The white tank is lightweight and soft but the arm holes hang down really low under my armpits which isn’t my favorite, so not as crazy about that particular tank but really like the capris and hoodie.

IMG_0772 (2)

Cooler weather: It’s finally fall in Mississippi! We have had temps in the 90’s up until last week, and now we have had temps in the 20’s! Go figure. I went on a run the other night and it was just cool enough to be chilly while running but not cold, it really was perfect.

IMG_0780 (2)

Starbucks red cups: You know what this means! It’s time to start listening to Christmas music. I can’t help it. We only have such a limited time together I must cherish it. Also stoked it’s finally cool enough to get my favorite fall beverages in hot versions and not as frozen or iced ones.

QOTD: What are you loving lately?

Disclosure: I was provided with some of the products in this post free of charge, however all opinions are my own.
