runDisney Princess Half Recap 2016

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in the runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge, and the second part of that challenge was to run the Princess Half.

runDisney princess half race recap

My friend Jen and I wanted to wear matching costumes again (last year we were the evil stepsisters), and since neither of us are crafty or creative, we enlisted her mom to create our adorable hats for the race.

On Sunday morning, we got up and had breakfast at our hotel, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. We were cheered on by cheerleaders who even waited on us to go outside to our car after the buses had left so they could give us a proper sendoff. It was so sweet!

I am a dork and didn’t think to start taking pictures until after the race had started. It was kind of an eventful start too! We got stuck in some serious traffic and were lucky enough to get to park on the far end of the last row of the parking lot at EPCOT. We booked it to the family reunion area and then to the start line, and literally walked into our corral about one minute before we started moving! It worked out great but we couldn’t have timed it better if we had tried!

Our plan was to just have fun, nothing fancy. Oh, and we wanted to beat last years time of 3:00:00. Last year Jen had been in the hospital the day before and I was just coming back after having Emma Kate, so we took it SUPER slow. This year we wanted to have fun but still actually do some running.

8c474373-48a0-4d0a-a9df-f07d6eecfef5

We made it through the Magic Kingdom gates and I apparently had way too much water and coffee before the race because I had to find a bathroom. They had the ones at the TTC ROPED OFF and I knew I wouldn’t make it to the ones in the Magic Kingdom. I stopped off at some portable ones around mile 4.5, and felt SO much better. We made it to the Magic Kingdom and Jen needed to go and we both wanted to wash our hands, so we planned to stop again, but not before getting a castle shot!

IMG_2491 (2)

IMG_2498 (2)

We made it to Tomorrowland and just as I have done in pervious years, we went into the men’s room (along with a ton of other women) and were promptly shooed out by a cast member. The men didn’t care and said it was our race and that we should get to use their bathroom, but the cast member was having none of it. So, we made it through the other side of the castle and stopped in Frontierland. I took a picture with my favorite cowboy while I waited for Jen.

8cd3e98a-7402-4c95-b902-175e4c88b0a2

We had made it to mile 6, and my hip started to slightly hurt. At this point, I was wishing the race was a 10k like the day before!

c04fef26-3c66-4a82-af63-b33ba0292250

We went out the back way of the Magic Kingdom and there was a gust of wind and it got COLD! it was crazy how we weren’t cold before. I call that the magic of Disney. I swear they control the weather. Anyway, we made it to the halfway mark and to the Grand Floridian where we snapped a picture with Bert and the penguins.

bc0d3257-d31d-41c4-b519-436d1bb15cd6

At this point we started taking walk breaks every few minutes because my hip was getting worse. I stopped and got some Tylenol at a med tent, too. We took some gels at the stop around mile nine, and were soon going around the overpass curve of death (to my IT band and hip), where the solider told us to MOVE MOVE MOVE towards EPCOT. Ah, what a beautiful site. I also started getting really warm about mile 11 and I felt bad for the people in the later corrals that would be running when the sun was up higher.

We made it into the park and I loved that the coach was here this year!

We looped around towards world showcase and towards the finish line. I Now have a love/hate relationship with this section of EPCOT thanks to runDisney races.

f2ec072f-0e9b-4911-af04-3baf97578777

We passed the gospel choir, and headed towards the finish line. I am happy to say we stomped our goal and finish in 2:33, which isn’t too shabby for several stops for characters and bathrooms and med tents!

We got so many compliments on our costumes, they are definitely one of my favorites I have worn. We collected our two new medals before heading back to the hotel.

Another successful runDisney race, and I am so happy that we both were able to get our Glass Slipper medals this year with no illnesses or mishaps! The volunteers were great, the weather was great, and the spectators were encouraging, and a good time was had by all. Thanks runDisney!

QOTD Have you ever dressed up for a race?

runDisney Princess Expo 2016

After some last minute finagling, I was so excited to be attending the runDisney Princess half marathon weekend to run the Glass Slipper Challenge! I love the Princess expo and was ready to get excited for the race weekend ahead.

runDisney princess half expo

I arrived on Friday at lunch, and my buddy Jen picked me up at the airport. She drove down from South Carolina, and it was SO NICE having a car the whole trip! We took zero busses!

Anyway, after grabbing lunch at Chick-fil-A in Celebration (priorities) we headed to the expo. The first thing I said (several times) was that I could NOT get over the amazing weather! It was sunny and in the low 70’s, and was supposed to be gorgeous all weekend. (Spoiler: it was!)

princess expo

The first thing we did was head over to pick up our bibs and shirts before going into the expo. I had heard horror stories of the insanity from the day before, so I was a little nervous. There were a couple of items I would have liked to have, but nothing I NEEDED (it’s just stuff, people) so we were just planning to go with the flow.

796063b0-f445-499c-939b-158360388edd

So far so good, it was not busy at all. We even walked right up to where you take the adorable instagram photos with no line. I will say, I was a bit bummed by the Instagram pics this year. I LVOED the one where the prince is in it from last year..or maybe it was two years ago. Anyway, I was looking forward to seeing what tricks runDisney had up their sleeve and sadly the background was boring and our photographer was not great so the pic did not come out well at all. Oh well! Not that I’m complaining about a free pic, but they raised the bar with awesome ones in the past and this one was just “eh”. Anyone else agree?

Moving on, it was down the red carpet into the expo!

Get excited people, race weekend!

I was a little bummed that the Glass Slipper wine glasses and tervis tumblers were sold out (if anyone sees them at an outlet let me know!) and that there were no cute baby clothes like in years past, but again it’s just stuff, so I got my “I did it shirt” and a regular runDisney wine glass and called it a day.

I got to see several friends! Michelle from Running Skirts, and Bobbi and Megan at Raw Threads among others.

IMG_2370 (2)

We wandered around but I didn’t buy anything else, and after awhile we decided to go check into our hotel and grab an early dinner. We had the 10k the next day, and it was time to get off of our feet. Overall it was a good expo experience for me, and was great to see some friends again and get excited about the race.

QOTD: Favorite thing about race expos? Do you ever buy anything?

Princess Here I Come

It’s here! It’s here! I leave for Louisiana TODAY, and fly out to Orlando from New Orleans first thing Friday morning. My loose plans involve the expo Friday afternoon, 10K Saturday morning, EPCOT Saturday afternoon, the half marathon Sunday morning, relaxing at the pool Sunday afternoon, and the Magic Kingdom on Monday before leaving Tuesday morning. I’m so excited but know that it is going to go by so fast, it always does!

Last year, Bobby came with me on this trip and we stayed for a week at Port Orleans Riverside. This year, it is a girls only trip, and shorter. Also this year I am participating in the Glass Slipper Challenge for the second time!

IMG_3084

Jen and I will be staying at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek for part of our stay before we move to a Disney hotel. I can’t wait to share more about Bonnet Creek itself when I get home from the trip! It’s a gorgeous resort, right in the middle of Disney.

Yesterday, I posted a printable packing list the for race, so check it out if you missed it. Also, I TENTATIVELY plan to be hanging out in front of the merchandise area at 4:30/4:45 before the half marathon on Sunday if anyone wants to say hello. Stay in touch via Twitter/Facebook/Instagram, because I will post updates there if something changes. Note the big red dot below:

A couple of fun story lines…

More than 37,000 runners from 26 countries are participating this weekend, including more than 16,500 in the half marathon. Also, Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell will be on hand to sing the National Anthem on Sunday morning before the race!

Safe travels to everyone going to Disney, hopefully I will see some of you very soon!

runDisney Princess Half Marathon Packing List

It’s almost time! The runDisney Princess Half Marathon is upon us! Since I planned this trip so last minute, it feels like it was snuck up on me so, so quickly. After only running the half marathon last year, I am so excited to be doing the Glass Slipper Challenge again.

runDisney Princess packing list printable

I started thinking yesterday that there are a lot of things to remember to pack for the race itself, so I started making a list, and realized I wanted to share it with all of you, too. I started typing it out, but then decided it would be fun to make it a printable so you can print it off, and check off the boxes as you go. I also left a section for notes where you can add things I did not put on the list that may be specific to you, so have fun and good luck! I hope to see some of you in Walt Disney World over the weekend! I arrive Friday and will be at the expo that afternoon, and am staying in WDW until Tuesday morning. The weather is looking promising, it’s sure to be a great time!

runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge Round 2

Hi friends! In case you missed my ‘hinting” in my Instagram post on Monday, I AM RUNNING THE RUNDISNEY GLASS SLIPPER CHALLENGE! Jen and I have been planning this for awhile, but it took until yesterday to get all the details hammered out, so I didn’t want to share until we knew FOR SURE it was happening.

IMG_1986 (2)

So here is mine and Jen’s history with the Glass Slipper challenge, and it’s not a good one. In 2014, I ran the inaugural challenge. At the time, I was nine weeks pregnant, and morning sickness was in full swing. No one but family and close friends knew I was pregnant, so I figured I could just run, have fun, and conceal my pregnancy for a few more weeks.

Bobby, my parents, and myself all ran the 5k together, well, run walked which was fine with me because I was not feeling so hot.

5k1022

The next day, my mom and I ran the 10k together, and the lack of sleep plus not eating much and the nausea really hit me and I was miserable and cranky the whole race. Also, after crossing the finish line at the 10k, Carissa texted me because Rudy wanted to know if I was pregnant! OMG! I knew I was bloated and already starting to show a little but this terrified me that people would find out. So I told, but swore them to secrecy, and wore loose tops the rest of the trip.

runDisney-10k

After the 10k, I crawled into bed and slept for hours. I experienced exhaustion like never before and don’t even know how to explain it. I felt so bad because I was ruining the trip for everyone. The next day I ran the half alone, and cried when I had to get out of bed at 2:45 while everyone else slept. I managed to finish the half but it was really difficult feeling so nauseated and tired.

princess-half

I again slept all afternoon, and we barely made it to the parks at all. I would call that a less than magical Glass Slipper experience. Honestly, I was so scared by it that even though I ran last year, I only signed up for the half marathon. Of course once I was there I wanted to run the whole thing, but I just did my one race. I was only 4 month post baby, so I wasn’t exactly ready for the challenge.

Then we have poor Jen who was signed up for Glass Slipper last year but ended up in the ER with a bad stomach virus the night before the 10k. She ran the half with me and we took it nice and slow, so yes, she needs a redo as well!

runDisney Glass Slipper

So, we will be back, both signed up for the Glass Slipper Challenge, and both desperately trying to stay well! We will be staying at Hilton Bonnet Creek for two night and then Port Orleans Riverside for two nights. We are frantically trying to pull costumes together for the half, and I have nothing planned for the 10k as of right now. I need some inspiration!

QOTD: Are you running the runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge? Favorite costume you have seen at a race?

Princess Here I Come!

After a one year runDisney hiatus due to pregnancy, I will be running the 2015 runDisney Princess half marathon!

2012-02-26 07.31.15

Yall, I love this race so much, and I am so glad it falls to where it will be my first post baby runDisney half marathon! When I ran the Glass Slipper Challenge this past year, I was nine weeks pregnant and VERY sick. Not to the fault of runDisney, but I was miserable. I ran the 5k as well, so three early mornings plus morning sickness does not equal a good time.

princess half18

I may be smiling on the outside, but….

I am ready for a redemption race in 2015, and to have a lot of fun. I will NOT be doing the Glass Slipper Challenge, I decided that running just the half marathon a few months after baby will be plenty for me, then I can spend more time hanging out and relaxing and not as much time waking up early and being exhausted.

Looking for a little motivation and excitement to get you ready? Check out these past blog posts I have written about Princess:

Princess Half Marathon 2014 Race Recap

I know this recap is late in coming, but I really wanted to wait until after the pregnancy announcement to write it, but so much of this recap has to do with the pregnancy an dhow I was feeling I knew leaving out those details would not be fair, so, here it is, my runDisney Princess half race recap!

princess half recap

I woke up at 2:45, and not going to lie…I started to cry. I was so exhausted already, and the thought of running a half marathon, by myself, feeling like crap, was not very appealing. Then I thought about my glass slipper medal and pink coast to coast medal, and knew I would regret not running. I forced myself up and out the door while my parents and husband slept soundly. I reminded myself this was the LAST time I had to get up this early for a long time to run, and headed for the buses all by my lonesome.

princess1

I love my Aurora tutu Lesley made for me!

I had to wait about 15 minutes to get on a bus, there were a ton of people in line at 3:35. I am sure I looked angry or upset because I just stood there staring at the ground not looking at anyone, munching on a bag of dry cereal to keep food on my stomach for as long as I could to help with the nausea. I was just SO not feeling this race. I sat next to a nice lady on the bus and we chatted for a bit, then we arrived at EPCOT and I walked to the family reunion area. I spotted my name on the Glass Slipper Challenge wall before heading to the team runDisney meet up (which I have no photo from, sorry guys!)

princess half2

Karen was stuck in traffic on a bus, so I waited about 30 minutes for her in the family reunion area. Again, I just stood there, staring blankly, feeling awful. I feel bad about it now, but honestly at the time I didn’t care, I just wanted to go to bed. I was mad I forgot to take Zofran, and just wanted to fast forward to three hours from that point. I had to pee, but was afraid I would miss Karen, so after we said a quick hello, I took off at a jog toward the corrals because the bathroom lines are usually shorter there. Well, they were not! I got nervous I was going to miss the start, but thankfully was able to run and jumped into my corral right as the National Anthem was playing.

princess half3

Coral A took off shortly after, and we began to move up until it was time for Corral C.

We ran under the sign and into darkness…and fog. Yall, it was super humid and so foggy I could barely see! It was a gross feeling, and sadly one I am all to familiar with living here in the deep south.

princess half4

The first few miles were uneventful. It felt like it took me forever to warm up and get into a groove. I didn’t have a plan per say, I just walked when I felt like I needed to, and took a GU every 3-4 miles. I stopped at every aide station for PowerAde and water as well. I made it to the Magic Kingdom sign, and I pepped up a little knowing my favorite part would be coming up soon.

princess half5

I came to the TTC where I was going to stop at the bathroom, but the line was out the door so I waited. I did get to see these drummers which I love!

princess half6

Also this guy always gets me going to conquer the hill right after him.

princess half7

Soon I was in the Magic Kingdom and turning onto Main Street, and here is my sad attempt at a picture while running.

princess half 8

A sweet volunteer took this for me!

princess half 9

I made it into Tomorrowland, and score, no bathroom line! Right after was the White Rabbit with one person in line. I hadn’t really planned on stopping for character photos since I just wanted to be DONE, but I couldn’t pass up such a non-existent line.

princess half 10

I wove through the castle and into Frontierland, and this guy only had three people in line. I figured I could use a breather so why not?

princess half11

Quick as a flash, I was outside of the park and I got a little down. I knew the next few miles would be pretty boring comparatively, and they were definitely the hardest for me. I made it to the Grand Floridian, and saw these guys. They had about 8 people in line, but I have never stopped for a photo with them, and so again, I figured why not. They were funny!

princess half12

Shortly after I walked right up to this photo, not a sole in line. Poor Lilo and Stitch!

princess half13

I passed the Clif shot station and got my all time favorite vanilla (tastes like cake icing!) which gave me a little boost. So did this lady!

princess half14

It was so hard to get a shot of this banner because it wasn’t anchored down and kept flowing in the wind.

princess half15

Still see the yucky fog? I was drenched and my tutu kept knotting up because it was so wet and humid!

I eventually made it to the mile ten marker, which made me happy for two reasons. 1.) I was dressed as Aurora and 2.) It meant I only had a 5k left to go!

princess half16

I circled around the overpass hill of death, and knew I would make it. It wouldn’t be pretty but I could do it. I knew Bobby was waiting for me at the finish and I started texting him giving updates. I had no idea how I would be feeling after the race and wanted him there to ride back with me in case I was really sick.

It seemed like miles ten and eleven took FOREVER, but I finally made it into EPCOT! The home stretch! My nausea was getting worse because my stomach was empty, but I picked up my pace as best I could so I could finish strong.

princess half17

I texted Bobby to find out where he was (just past the 13 mile sign) and I kept looking, and finally spotted him! I know I am smiling here, but it’s just because I was almost DONE!!! I crossed the finish in 2:45, definitely not great for me, but I was just so proud that I stuck it out feeling so poorly. Some of the sweetest finish lines aren’t always the ones that end in PR’s folks. There are more challenges to a race sometimes than just time, and I am darn proud of this one!

I collected all three of my medals, and found Bobby. (my poor tutu!)

princess half18

LOVE my medals!

princess half19

We hopped on the bus quickly, I had to get some food in me asap, I was getting more sick by the minute. I broke into my food box and ate a Luna bar which helped some. We got off at the Swan because it was quicker to get off and walk than be the last stop on the slow (and stuffy and un-air-conditioned!) bus. We got to the bridge to go over to the Boardwalk, and there were my mom and dad waiting to surprise me! They had walked over from the hotel to see me and walk back with us.

princess half20

It was definitely a very rough runDisney race, and my first runDisney half to run by myself. I missed the encouragement and company of a running mate for sure. Please note none of my issues with this race had ANYTHING to do with runDisney. They put on a great race as usual and on my end I didn’t notice any major problems. This will always be a favorite of mine and I hope to run it next year post baby!

QOTD: Have you ever been really proud of a race even if it wasn’t your best time on the clock? What made it special?

Enchanted 10k Race Recap 2014

As part of the Glass Slipper Challenge, I participated in the inaugural runDisney Enchanted 10k with my mom.

enchanted 10k recap

We were up at 2:45, dressed and ready to get to the busses by 3:45.

unnamed (5)

The bus line was LONG and a full ten minutes went by with no bus. I had friends at other resorts telling me they had one bus lined up behind the other getting people on so I was a little perturbed that it wasn’t the case at the Boardwalk.

After about 20 minutes we were loaded onto a bus and we met up with Karen and then went to the Team runDisney meet up.

Enchanted 10K 4[8]

We stayed and chatted a bit before heading over to our corrals (LOVE the short walk to the corrals for the 10k!)

enchanted10k

We went to the bathroom, got some water, and sat in our corral for a few minutes chatting with other runners. (Was great to meet so many readers! Thanks for saying hi!)

We were soon ushered up to the starting line, being welcomed to the first ever Enchanted 10k!

start line

We were off, into the darkness, turning left out of the parking lot. Look, it’s Elsa from Frozen! We even had “snow” fall on us.

enchanted10kelsa

We kept on trucking, and decided to stop for the bathrooms in the median somewhere between mile 2 and 3. This is where my only annoyance for the race came in, and it was NOT runDisney’s fault.

Let me set the scene: We were out on the 3 lane highway, right before it opens to 4 lanes, and had just stepped off to the left to use the bathrooms. We had run the whole first mile, then walked just once before using the bathroom. We got back onto the road, and decided to walk a few seconds before going right back into running to get our heart rates back up. We were ALL THE WAY on the left side of the road, and the road was empty. (I think we were in between corrals at this point.) Anyway, a girl runs up next to me and starts YELLING at us for being “in the way” and said we need to learn to walk on the correct side of the road. Um….EXCUSE ME? 1.) We were ALL the way to the side 2.) The road was EMPTY so we were in no ones way 3.) Why the heck would we go all the way across 4 lanes of road to walk for 15 more seconds? Wouldn’t that be more of a hazard, cutting straight across people just to get to the right side? If we had been in the middle of the road or the right side we of course would have gone right, but we had jut come out of the left medium where the port-o-potties were. Oy. Anyone who has run a runDisney race before knows that walkers need to get to the side…any side, and that it’s impossible to just be on one side, especially when it’s super crowded. There are people taking walk breaks everywhere, all along the course, and I have no problem with walking as long as you are to the side. I was in shock, and would be lying if I said it didn’t tick me off for most of the race. Just to give you an idea of HOW EMPTY it was, as soon as I got over the shock of how rude this chick was, I took a picture to show how “in the way”’ we clearly were of all the traffic.

unnamed (6)

Seriously. SERIOUSLY? Why ruin someone else’s race like that? I just don’t understand the mean spiritedness some people have in them. I would be lying if I didn’t notice every single person walking on BOTH sides of the road during the race after that. If I stressed that woman out when there was no crowds, she probably had a heart attack the rest of the race. Sigh. Ok, moving on.

We made it to mile three, and started the turn towards EPCOT. The boys were supposed to wake up and go downstairs below our room and watch us run by, so I started texting my dad when we got to EPCOT.

We made it around the World Showcase, and out to the Boardwalk. I let the boys know we were close, and sure enough there they were! We stopped for quick sweaty hugs and were on our way again. We made it all the way around, and were heading back into EPCOT. We were almost done! Mom was doing a great job, and I kept telling her we were close and to just hang on a little longer.

unnamed (7)

It was starting to get daylight, and the cast members were out cheering for us through EPCOT. We made the turn backstage that I know so well, and we just had two tenths of a mile to go.

When we reached the final stretch, there were tons of fans in the bleachers cheering, and we got a mother/daughter shout out from Carissa and Rudy. Carissa even asked if Bobby was in the bed haha. We crossed the finish line, hands in the air, we did it!

enchanted race

I was super proud of mom for doing the 5k and 10k back to back. We got our medals and I got my 10k finisher wristband for the glass slipper challenge, and grabbed our food before heading to the busses.

runDisney 10k

I really enjoy the 10k distance, and the medal was really cute. I think they could do so much more with the course, but other that that I had a really good time and think it’s great runDisney is including a “middle distance” for people who have done the 5k but aren’t ready for the half, or people like my mom who has done three halfs and still wants to runDisney, but not have to train as much. It’s a happy medium, and I hope they continue to offer it. We didn’t stop for pictures because the lines were pretty long, and mom just wanted to keep going, which is totally fine. We ran the first mile, then walked probably every half mile for a minute or so after that. (ALWAYS on the side and always after putting our hand up signaling we were about to stop!) Everything was well organized and ran smoothly as far as I am concerned, except for the long wait at the bus stop. I would definitely run this race again in the future!

QOTD: Do you like the 10k distance? Have you ever been yelled at on a race course?

runDisney Princess Half Marathon Expo 2014

I had high hopes for this year’s expo after a bit of a mess in 2013. Last year, the expo was held at Coronado Springs Resort, and I don’t think anyone anticipated that it wasn’t enough space. This year however, things went very smoothly, good job runDisney!

princess expo

We arrived after lunch, so the expo had already been open about four hours. I think the first “wave” of people had left, because I did not find it that crowded.

unnamed (14)

There were free yogurt cups being given out outside, the perfect snack for some shopping stamina!

unnamed (15)

We walked the royal red carpet up to the expo doors, and were ready to shop!

unnamed (16)

unnamed (17)

Our plan was to go to the official merchandise first since it sold out so quickly last year. Then we would go get our packets, the shop the expo floor.

unnamed (19)

I was happy to see most things were still ins tock, the only thing I did not get that I wanted was a glass slipper sweaty band. Oh well, at least I got my I Did it shirt!

unnamed (9)

unnamed (11)

Across the way we went to get our bibs. We all got in the 5k line, then I had to go downstairs to get my Glass Slipper bib and shirts. That’s when I realized I didn’t have a coast to coast band. I had emailed runDisney to tell them I did NOT want coast to coast at Tink because I wanted the pink one at Princess (they had sent out an email to everyone doing both and asked us to respond with our preference.) Obviously, my email was not received or got lost, because there was no record of my name.

I went to runner relations, and the guy working tried to tell me I would need to go visit the info booth the morning of the half marathon. I didn’t like being passed off to someone else, and didn’t want to worry for the next three days if they were going to give me my wristband or not the morning of the race, nor did I want to be stressed about it at 4:00 in the morning on race day. I asked the guy if there was really nothing he could do, even showing a picture from my phone of me posing with my ONE medal after Tinkerbell, and he reluctantly agreed to give me the wristband. Whew.

About this time, Bobby was in line for us to get our picture from runDisney for following them on Instagram. I think it came out cute, they always do a good job with the backdrops!

We headed BACK to the expo floor, and I saw these guys.

We got our 5k shirts and my mom’s 10k shirt, and then I made my rounds saying hi to friends working at booths, chatting with other runners and readers, and just having a great time! Jen texted me and said she saw someone post these pins on Instagram, so I headed over to the runDisney booth to get my own! LOVE this idea!

Soon we had to leave to go get ready for dinner, but I could have stayed much longer!

I couldn’t pass up a picture with the Glass Slipper sign as we headed to the parking lot.

Look how cute my mom and dad are! My dad would be getting his first runDisney medal the next morning.

I loved this expo and thought runDisney did a great job of correcting the issues of last year. I still thought some of the merchandise was lacking in quality, but I feel like I’m beating a dead horse with that one. It’s selling out, right? The signage was great, the volunteers were very helpful, and aside form the coast to coast hiccup, we had no issues. Hooray! Until the next race…

QOTD: DO you like to “get in and get out” at expos or stay for awhile?

Princess Prep

Hello friends! Tomorrow is the big day! I leave the dogs with the house sitter, fly out with my fam to Orlando to spend five days in Disney World for the Glass Slipper Challenge and the family fun run 5k. It’s going to be a jam packed trip, but also hopefully a lot of fun.

I will be at the expo in the early afternoon on Thursday, if you see me at any point during the weekend PLEASE say hi, I love to chat! I will be at all three races, and also roaming the parks until Tuesday when we leave. I am stoked my mom and dad are coming with us. We are ALL doing the 5k, my dad’s first runDisney race! Mom and I are running the 10k, and I am running the half all by my lonesome.

Good luck to everyone who is running, I hope you have a magical time and don’t forget running at Disney is supposed to be FUN! Don’t be nervous, if you have put in the training YOU CAN DO THIS! Enjoy every magical mile, and hope to see ya real soon.
