Cross Train or Remain the Same Challenge

I am going to be hosting a challenge for the month of April on Challenge Loop. It’s called “Cross Train or Remain the Same”. Why this challenge? This is something runners and non-runners can participate in for one thing. Particularly for runners, we have a bad habit of wanting to just run all the time and not add any cross training into our schedules. This can lead to burn out and injury. Some days your running muscles just need a rest, but you can still get in a good burn and strengthen other muscles by cross training. Cross training can be anything from yoga, to hiking, to riding your bike. So for the month of April I challenge YOU to cross train twice a week.

Prizes? Oh yes, I will be randomly drawing a winner for a prize at the end of the month from the pool of participants. The winner will receive a Sony wireless Meb Keflezighi, water resistant MP3 player (value $70) Plus a surprise pack of some of MY personal favorite workout and running essentials (value $50).

The challenge will run April 1 – April 30, 2013 and the official hashtag for the challenge is #CrossTrainOrRemainTheSame. To be eligible to win the prize, you must post on the challenge page at least 8 times. (Be sure to use the hashtag if you tweet about your workout!)

So all you have to do to be eligible to win is cross train 8 times in the month of April and post on the challenge page each time you do so for a total of at least 8 times. May 1st I will randomly draw a winner and post their name on my blog. Remember, cross training can be any form of cardio workout that isn’t running.
