Under Armour Visit Part 3: Let’s Go Shopping!

If you missed part one and part two, be sure to read them first then come back for this installment!

We were already checked in at the four seasons, so we left our stuff with bell services and walked over to the UA Brand House. I had NO idea what this was, so Jami told us about this amazing one of a kind store. It is right on the harbor, and sells a ton of amazing Under Armour gear. You can find UA gear at outlets, and other sporting goods stores…but they don’t have stand alones, but the brand house…ah…it’s amazing.

When we arrived, the employees were waiting for us and did a little cheer for us, it was so kind of them, I loved them right away.

Not sure what I was saying here, but it was obviously pretty funny. Smile with tongue out

We were then handed gift cards and told to go shopping! Um…..don’t have to tell this girl twice! Under Armour had already been So generous I was not expecting this at all. I will admit, I was slightly overwhelmed because there was SO much to look at in this store.

The super sweet employees had already pulled some items for each of us in our size based on what they thought we would like after reading about all of us. How COOL is that, they went above and beyond, so, so sweet.

After we knew what they had already pulled for us, we did a little browsing around with the help of the employees.

Bought those shorts too. I look slightly overwhelmed here…

Did I mention the dressing rooms? AMAZING. Looks like I am in a gym right? Nope! dressing room. Of COURSE I want to see what I will look like in my new gear at the gym…makes perfect sense. Why didn’t I think of this?

Ended up buying these stretch woven capris. Love.

GIRL POWER! #IWILL

We had loads of fun, but eventually we did have to check out and go get ready for dinner. Apparently I stand like this all the time.

Before we left, we took a group photos with the awesome staff, and then us gals took some shots.

We headed back to the hotel and brought our bags up to our rooms. Tasha and I shared a room, and were greeted with super cute UA/Baltimore baskets on our beds. So thoughtful!

We had an amazing room which I will tell you more about in another post.

four seasons baltimore

We quickly got ready for dinner and walked to a Greek restaurant down the block where we were greeted with a  lovely table open to the outside. This southern girl  is NOT used to being able to eat outside in August and not die of a heat stroke or be swarmed by bugs in the process of said heat stroke.

We shared some appetizers, and I ordered grilled chicken that was delicious.

We laughed, we talked, we had a great time, and didn’t get back to the hotel until about 11:00!

We headed straight to bed, another big day was to be had, with yoga in the morning. Trust me, you WON’T won’t to miss those photos from this non-yogi.

QOTD: Have you ever stayed a the Four Seasons? What would you buy at the UA Brand House?

Weekly Workout Recap: May 2013 Week 3

Another workout week is behind us! I am happy to say I did a good job of getting back on track after vacation.

wwr

I worked out six days this week, and did a good job of varying things up. I even got in a long run, which I haven’t done since March! Sadly, it’s already starting to get really warm here (it was 85 during my Saturday MORNING run!) So I need to get acclimated, and fast. I spent all day yesterday guzzling water and Gatorade because I sweat so much on my run. I felt really accomplished afterwards though. Ok, so here is what I did this week!

Sunday: rest

Monday: 3 mile run, chest and tri’s

Tuesday: 2 mile power walk on 7.0 incline, back bi’s and abs

Wednesday: 3 mile run

Thursday: 45 minutes stationary bike, chest and tri’s

Friday: workout DVD

Saturday: 6 mile run

CYJ

I am hoping to do a long run of 7 miles this next weekend, and we will be sure to start a little earlier in the morning before it gets too hot! Have a fabulous Sunday everyone. Rest day for this gal.

*Don’t forget about my Disney swag bag giveaway or my $100 visa giftcard giveaway!

Slow Down? No Way!

Hello from Mississippi! I am FINALLY HOME!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love to travel, but once I am ready to go home I miss it so much. I am exhausted, happy, and overwhelmed all at the same time right now. I have so much to do I don’t know where to begin!

I have decided since so many of you are waiting to hear about the cruise, and also so many waiting to hear about running skirts and my trip to Cali, I would break it up. One day a post about Disney, the next a post about Running skirts. I think that’s fair, right? But first things first, My final leg of my journey home!

I last blogged to you from the Houston Airport. I boarded my final flight home, and was so thankful none of my flights the whole trip were delayed or too terribly turbulent. The last flight was a quick one, only about 45 minutes. I got to NOLA and headed out to find my driver….I mean my mom, who was picking me up.

2011-06-08205450

I found her, and we finally made it back to their house where I promptly fell asleep and slept like a rock! I woke up this morning to this crazy girl:

2011-06-09083419

This is my sisters 8 week old puppy, NOLA. My sister was gone for the morning so I helped puppy sit. Don’t let this cute face fool you, she is INSANE!

DSC_0623

The beast does not sit still. I don’t know HOW I finally got this picture. She is quite the little biter, and she is incredibly spastic. She runs into walls, can’t walk straight, and will eat your hair, your face, your clothes, anything she can put in her mouth.

DSC_0618

what is that thing in your hand?

DSC_0619

is it for me? what does it taste like?! I must find out!

DSC_0621

rraaawwwrrr!!!

I played with puppy, chatted with my mom and sister, and decided to head home. I drove the hour 15 minutes home, so excited to see my puppies. I had not seen them since Tuesday the 24th of MAY!!!

As soon as I opened the door they attacked me, and we just laid on the floor freaking out and snuggling for about ten minutes. I found this on the refrigerator:

2011-06-09120135

How sweet is that?!? Not to mention, the house is spotless! SPOTLESS! I have the best hubby. I can’t wait to see him when he gets home from work!

Ok, I am off to unpack, organize pictures, do some vacation quotes, and maybe even nap. I am zonked! Looking forward to posting about all of my travels! No slowing down for me anytime soon! Stay tuned!

QOTD: Would you rather pack or unpack? I would rather pack, it usually means I am going somewhere fun and exciting!

Happy Birthday Stinky!

Two posts in one day?!? what is wrong with me? I hope you are having a great Friday. I just wanted to mention a couple of things I left out of my last post.

The first of which being Bobby and I ran again last night, 3 more hilly miles, followed by some coconut water drinking. I look sweaty because well…it was really hot and humid, and the sun wasn’t even out!

2011-04-21_19.17.16

Second thing, today is my LAST DAY of 6 weeks to 6 pack and well…I don’t have a 6 pack. Not even close. More on that next week so stay tuned for all the deets….

third thing is, my Bella Stink turns THREE today! In case you are lost and wondering why I call my precious furball stinky, here it is: She is bad. I mean into everything, nonstop craziness bad. She gets into everything and anything and is so spunky. We started calling her a little stinker because she is so bad, and ten it evolved to calling her stinky and stink. I know, I know, it’s weird, but it fits her, trust me! (I have even been known to throw in a “stinker bell” or “bellzers” or embarrassing things like that)

Anyway, she is 3 now, but still acts like a crazy 6 week old puppy. I thought you may enjoy some of my favorite pictures of the stink. We got stinky at 5 weeks old.

Here she is the day we brought her home:

stink1

everyone say “aaawwwwww”

stink2

she was like a cotton ball with arms and legs

stink3

slightly bigger than a coke can

By June she had gotten a little bit bigger

stink5

and July

stink7

but she still looked tiny when she was wet

stink6

but eventually we had to start getting her groomed

stink11

Stinky loves people food

stink12

and is VERY MUCH a lap dog

stink13

She loves looking out the window

stink14

and likes Disney like her mama

stink15

Last winter we discovered her love for snow

stink17

as in, stick your face in it and run like you are going under a blanket

stink18

and, watch out if you are taking warm towels out of the dryer. She will be on top of them in a heartbeat

stink16

but apparently does NOT like hats

stink19

I have loved every minute of the three years we have had her (well…except when she pees on my carpet or digs in the trashcan…but anyway….) She is so much fun to have around and I always have a fun story to share about her! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA!

ST. Patrick’s Day 5k 2011

Happy Monday! Catching up from the weekend? Here is what you missed!

Fit Magazine Article and Photos

Fitness Role Model

I ran a 5k Saturday and went to my cousins bridal shower (I will post those pictures tomorrow!) Yesterday we tried out a new church, went for a walk, did some unpacking and relaxing!

On to the 5k recap!

DSC_2172 DSC_2171

We were excited to run this race because it was our first race in our new town! It was a block off the beach, right by the Beau Rivage and Hard Rock.

2011-03-19091158 2011-03-19091219

When we pulled up we saw there was some kind of festival or something going on, we decided to check it out after the race.

2011-03-19091136

The race didn’t start until 9:30 which I knew was bad news because it was already 70 degrees when we got there at 9:00, and it was super sunny. I didn’t tell anyone because I wanted to see how I did….but I did a timed 5k at my house a few days ago and ran it in 28:02. So, I figured on a flat course (my neighborhood has a couple of hills) with adrenaline and people to race against, I could run a 27:00, or maybe even less. I was a little apprehensive because of the heat, but I figured I would PR regardless of the heat because I haven’t run a road 5k since last spring. It was a pretty big local race, about 300 people. I didn’t take my camera with me, so I don’t have any during the race pictures.

One great thing about this race was since it was a block off the beach it was totally flat which was really nice! But, there was NO SHADE! We started at 9:35 and 73 degrees. I started off well and ran the first mile in 8:42. I was aware of the heat but it wasn’t really getting to me yet. We hit around 1.3 and they had a water stop. I decided not to stop, knowing it was an out and back course, and decided I would stop for water on the way back. This is about where I started to get hot. I was even wearing a white hat, but my ears and head got so hot and I started getting lightheaded. About this time, the leaders started passing me going back the other way. WOW they were booking it, and there was a girl right up there with them! Bobby passed me and I realized I was only about a minute behind him, awesome! I made the turn and was pouring sweat, cursing myself for not wearing a tank top. Since it was a St. Patrick’s day race Bobby and I wore the only green running shirts we have, the Mardi Gras Rock n Roll half shirts from this year. It was funny because we saw about 30 people wearing them!

Anyway, I hit the water stop on the way back, and stopped to walk while I drank. I took a couple sips then poured the rest over my head. I immediately got nauseated and so wished I could throw up. I tried, no dice. I started running again, hit mile 2, and was still feeling so overheated. My pace started to slow but there wasn’t anything I could do. There were two guys I kept going back and forth with the whole race, I guess we were all trying to hold under a 9:00 pace. When they would stop and walk I would tell them to keep running as I passed them. In a way I think I was really trying to tell MYSELF to keep going because I wanted to stop so badly! I did stop one more time at about mile 2.7, and tried to throw up again. I was cursing the sun and the south and the humidity at this point! I knew I was close so I pushed some more and finally made it to the finish line! Garmin said I ran a 29:27. I was happy I PRed, but disappointed it wasn’t the time I wanted. People were talking about how cold it was when they ran this race last year…HA I wish! Bobby’s PR is a low 23:00, and he ran a 25:49, so about 2:30 or so off his PR. So I think under better weather I really could have gotten my 27. What a bummer. Oh well, it is what it is, and I am still happy I got a PR.

2011-03-19100818 2011-03-19101336

2011-03-19101719

they had bleachers by the finish line. This was after the race so there is no one there anymore ha.

2011-03-19102534

After we cooled off in the shade we walked to that festival to see what was going on. We found out it was a BBQ cookoff, how fun!

2011-03-19103002

2011-03-19103038

We went down by the beach to take a couple of pictures for fun.

DSC_2178 DSC_2179

DSC_2182 DSC_2185

DSC_2186

We took a self portrait

DSC_2187

then a lady who was sunbathing on the beach came up and offered to take our picture, and said “I know how hard it is when you are traveling alone to get pictures.” We just smiled…

DSC_2189

Then we thanked her and she said “enjoy the rest of your vacation!” We just said thank you and didn’t correct her and tell her that I am just a crazy blogger who takes pictures of everything and we live 15 minutes up the road. HA!

We drove along the beach and Bobby realized we were passing by where his family kept their boat when he was a kid. He explained to me how it “used to look”.” He had not been back since hurricane Katrina, and apparently she took the whole marina out. These big poles are where the President casino used to sit. After the hurricane it ended up on the other side of the beach road on top of a hotel (which is no longer there)

DSC_2191

He showed me where their boat slip was, where he used to play, etc. It’s all just slabs and piles of rubble now. So sad!

We kept driving until we hit our road then headed north home!

DSC_2195

That’s it! So, fun race in new town, nice and flat, PR, but super hot and bummed about my time. I guess my “unofficial” PR can still be the 28:02 I ran at home, right?

QOTD: Have you ever run a really hot/humid race? How did it affect your performance?

WDW Marathon 2011 Recap Part 1

**please update your feed so you will continue to get updated in your reader!Change to: http://feeds.feedburner.com/RunningWithSass     I think a lot of people are missing posts whichs makes me sad!!! Please update!

Good afternoon everyone! It is finally time for my marathon recap! Hang on, it’s going to be a wild ride!!!

My alarm went off at 2:50 AM. Last year, I got up at 3:00 and felt rushed, so I decided to get up a few minutes earlier. I had only slept three hours that night so I was very very sleepy.

all my stuff ready to go the night before

DSC_1764

I don’t really remember much from that morning except I was frustrated with my bib because I couldn’t get it straight on my shirt and I can be a little OCD about it being straight…We finally made it down to the lobby where we met Karen.

ready to go!

DSC_1771

in the lobby of Wilderness Lodge

b8e01b63

We headed outside and there was an almost full bus waiting. We hopped on and were off within 3-4 minutes. The bus was taking way longer than expected to get us to the family reunion area, but we finally made it and had a quick blgoger meet up with Katye and Kelly.

168957_554414322771_68000952_31807564_5146569_n

The we headed over to another blogger meet up with the ROTER’s (Running of the Ears, runners who love Disney!) They had already taken the group pic which we missed, but we did get one with Jenn!

163234_554414352711_68000952_31807565_5236764_n

It was chilly out, but not bad, and definitely better than last year! We started heading to our corrals. There were so many people we were barely moving and it took forever. I don’t remember it being like that last year!

163247_554414447521_68000952_31807568_7503196_n

We made it to the start and jumped in a potty line, then headed to the D corral. After a little confusion we made it in, and everything seemed to go a lot faster than last year. We were not in the corrals for 5 mintues when they sang the National Anthem!

163679_554414472471_68000952_31807569_8272236_n 165636_554414402611_68000952_31807566_5684172_n

166621_554414512391_68000952_31807570_3542592_n

There were some amazing displays of fireworks like only Disney can do, and the first wave started! I got a little emotional with the fireworks, but surprisingly, I wasn’t that nervous. I knew I would finish. We weren’t going for time, just to have FUN and take lots of character pictures. it was so nice not having all this pressure on me to finish in a certain time.

Before I knew it, our corral had moved up and it was our turn!

165699_554414597221_68000952_31807573_4536133_n

We started running and before I knew it we were in EPCOT. (After basically making us run in a circle. So mean of Disney!)

They had some floats out from the electrical parade which was cool.

179312_554414652111_68000952_31807575_4562802_n

I had already tossed my pants at the start, and was planning on tossing my sweatshirt before we got into EPCOT so that my bib would be visible for photographers. I told Bobby he needed to do the same, and then he proceeded to tell me he would run the race “like this”

167197_554414617181_68000952_31807574_5354276_n

awesome. Whatever floats your boat, dear.

When we hit the EPCOT ball, we noticed a cast member standing off to the side. Karen asked her if she would take a picture of us in front of the ball and she said “your going to make me take my hands out of my pockets and be cold!: How rude! She wasn’t too bright, because this is the picture we got “in front of the ball.”

167215_554414731951_68000952_31807578_5872595_n

seriously lady?! We made Bobby to it the RIGHT way!

179267_554414766881_68000952_31807579_4994109_n

We ran to the left towards the World Showcase, past Mexico, and then around some backstage area and out of Epcot. Wow. that was fast! It was here we encountered our first characters!

168297_554414911591_68000952_31807584_8043327_n

We made it back out onto the road, and I was a little turned around for a bit. We ran around a few circled inclines which m knee did NOT like, and the sun started to come up. We made it out to World drive, and they had this huge EPCOT balloon blown up. The day before, a cast member told me he had gotten very confused driving to work because he thought it was the real EPCOT ball!

168988_554415086241_68000952_31807592_7817094_n

We made it to mile 7!! Still smiling!

164370_554417960481_68000952_31807701_2868084_n

This is about where I stopped at my first of many medical tents. My knee wasn’t hurting yet, it was just a little tight, but I was being proactive. I slathered on the first of a LOT of biofreeze I would use that day!

163793_554415136141_68000952_31807594_7525731_n

At this point, Karen had started texting her husband Jason. He was supposed to be waiting to see us at the TTC. When we got there, there were so many people we almost missed him! After that, we saw this fun guy with these huge hands!

166097_554415355701_68000952_31807602_143625_n

I was starting to get excited because we were almost to the Magic Kingdom, my favorite part of the whole race! But, I realized I had to go pee REALLY bad! We made a plan to stop at a REAL bathroom in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom.

We made it around back and out onto Main Street. I kept telling myself to soak it all in. I wanted to run though because I was so excited but I also wanted to stop and walk to look at everything and everyone!

179390_554415525361_68000952_31807611_491139_n

I got emotional here last year, and of course it happened again. the on course support is so amazing!

167992_554415540331_68000952_31807612_2163738_n

We saw our first group of ROTE supporters here and it was a nice boost to see “fans!”

This is where the picture taking Bonanza began! We took FOREVER in the Magic Kingdom because we took a ton of pics!

165696_554415595221_68000952_31807614_6043870_n

back of me and Bobby’s heads haha

164876_554415660091_68000952_31807617_6881049_n

We finally made it to the POTTY! yes, Karen took a picture of me running into the bathroom!

167166_554415700011_68000952_31807619_1572717_n

I felt MUCH better after that and like I could enjoy the race more ha!

race25

next we ran into these guys by the teacups

race32

and then these guys soon after

33789_554415789831_68000952_31807622_2662178_n

We then approached the back of the castle and saw this lady

166435_554415979451_68000952_31807626_3971445_n

Then we ran through the castle, another super fun part, and got more pictures

167370_554416069271_68000952_31807630_7220608_n race20

castle

We then ran through Frontierland, and before you knew it we were out of the Magic Kingdom. Sad smile I was a little sad because I knew this would be the longest stretch of nothingness of the race. but, Disney did a good job of keeping us entertained! There were characters, fun signs to read, music, etc. It really wasn’t that bad!

We came down the road past the Grand Floridian so of course we had to take a picture with our favorite hotel Smile

163831_554416313781_68000952_31807641_6532793_n

We came up to the golf course on the left, and this is where we got lucky. There was a long line for Minnie and Mickey, but I really wanted a pic with them, so we got in line. When Karen went to take her pic, Goofy walked up and got in it, awesome! So then Bobby and I went to take our picture, and Donald walked in it too! We had all four characters! All these racers and spectators started snapping pictures, sow e are probably in a lot of peoples pictures! After our pic, Mickey and Minnie left! Donald and Goofy were there to switch out, so we were the ONLY ones who got all four in our picture. Score!

179394_554417466471_68000952_31807681_7977414_n

After that, we saw Jason again and he snapped this lovely picture ha!

164176_554417696011_68000952_31807689_5583239_n

Soon after this, we hit mile 13. HALFWAY! In a way, the first half seemed quick, but also in a way, the thought of running 13 more miles seemed really daunting!

race28

so how would we fair in the second half of the race? You will have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Winking smile
