I was contacted by the people at VFuel awhile back to do a giveaway and review. They were working on a new website so we waited until it was complete so I could share it with you! It is beautiful, so be sure to go take a look. I was excited to try this endurance gel because I had heard awesome things about the natural ingredients used, without sacrificing taste. As a picky “taster”, I have to admit they hit the nail on the head with this product!
There are three flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and peach cobbler (my favorite!) All three flavors are made with organic and natural flavors. No extra additives, nothing you can’t pronounce, etc. I had also been told wonderful things about the digestibility of this gel. Folks, if you have a sensitive stomach when it comes to fueling during endurance activities, I challenge you to try out VFuel. Apparently, the issue that causes people GI distress is the fructose in the gels. VFuel uses dextrose, which is much easier to digest. Your body can only handle so much fructose when you are working out, so adding more to it can cause bloating, constipation, or diarrhea, so why do it to yourself? try something new!
Ok, so what about performance? I was skeptical about the idea of this new formula giving me the energy and endurance I needed for marathon training like other gels can, and honestly, I felt just as great using this gel as I have with other brands. It gave me the boost I needed mid run, and I used it during Goofy’s challenge in January (where I PR’ed) and the Princess half marathon in February (where I PRed). So obviously, it’s helping me! I will continue to use it, and know that not only am I fueling my body, but that I am doing so with healthy and natural ingredients. I can’t wait for yall to try this product for yourselves.
VFuel has been kind enough to giveaway a box to one lucky reader, flavor of your choice (Peach cobbler is the bomb.com) See below to find out how to win! Giveaway: Open March 12-March 16, winner announced Sunday, March 17th 2013 on the blog.

I am not training for an event, but since this is only my second year running, I want to start doing longer runs and adding more distance, so I think I will need to fuel if I do that. However, my hubby and I do some really long mtn. bike rides, so we both would use this product then!

I think the peach cobbler sounds yummy!
I am trying to pr in the Pittsburgh half in May. I’ve always has tummy trouble with my long runs and it has been a roller coaster trying to find what works for me. My salt intake seems to be the key, but when I would take anything with fructose during the run, it would seem to be worse. I’m excited that these have zero fructose and are all natural!! Thanks for reviewing!!!
I would use VFuel for my upcoming half marathon!!

I have 8 family members signed up for Disneyland Half and now Wine and Dine Half, most are either 1st time or 2nd timers and one of their biggest training complaints are regarding the taste/consistency/relevance of other gels, basically I have a bunch of unhappy trainees. Would love to try VFuel as an alternative to other gels for my crew!

I’m not sure, did you check out their website?
I’ve never even heard of VFuel. interesting.
I would use them to train for my marathons!
I have a bunch of races this year–I have the cherry blossom 10 miler in a few weeks, the inaugural Nike women’s half marathon in dc, and the marine corps marathon in the fall. I’ll need all the fuel to keep my legs moving all summer long while I spend it in Dallas for work (ughhhh)
Interesting- I have a super sensitive stomach that plagues me on any run over 10 miles. It makes marathon training rough, I would love to try it on my long runs!
The peachtree road race in July!
I would use them at the Fiesta Mission 10k or the Texas Flower Country 10k I have coming up. Peach cobbler is calling my name.
