Weekly Workout Recap: September Week 3

This month is flying by. Granted, I haven’t been home for very much of it, but wow! We are now in my favorite season. I love fall, and can’t wait for some cooler temps to on down to the deep south.

Since I was gone at a conference until Friday of this week, I didn’t really do much working out. We were up early and out late every night, so I only worked out once while I was in Florida. However I did have a really great long run yesterday!

Sunday: 2 mile treadmill run in Disney

Monday: rest

Tuesday: walked around parks, 3+ miles

Wednesday: rest

Thursday: rest

Friday: rest

Saturday: 8 mile long run in 1:17

QOTD: what is the longest run you do before a race? (the distance of the race, shorter, longer etc.)

Comments

  1. I always run at least one long run the length of the race or longer.

  2. I try to do 10 miles when training for a half

  3. This is a great end question, I am on week 11 of my Tinkerbell training & I love coming to your blog to check out all your workout recaps! I can’t wait! Quick Question, where is the best place to stay for the Princess half? My friends & I already have the Grand California booked for Tinkerbell. Thank you!

  4. Linkup is up! Park walking is it’s own sport I swear lol

  5. I’m just hoping to stay ahead of sweepers… I’m nursing injured feet awaiting surgery after WDWM week. See you there.

  6. It depends on the distance of the race for me as far as whether I’ll run the distance before. Now with halves I’ll run the distance before the event, but I doubt I’ll ever get to that point (nor should I?) with marathons.

  7. Cooler temps? Yes, please! I usually run less distance than I’ll actually run in a race…unless it’s a 5K or 10K.

  8. I am a little OCD, so yes, I do the length of the race. :-)

  9. The first time I do a race distance, I train up to about 85-90% of that distance. The first time I did a 5K race it wasn’t as special to me since I’d already run that distance several times in training. Since then I’ve followed the method I just described for my first 10K & my first half, so the race itself is a new record distance for me. After doing it once, though, I do at least one training run of that distance or longer.
